Affiliate Summit Pinnacle Award Nominations Close on November 30

Author : Jessica Griffin

If you’re in the affiliate industry, please submit your nominations for the Affiliate Summit Pinnacle Award by Sunday, November 30, 2014. We would be honored for your nomination in the category of Best OPM / Agency of the Year.

As a company, our clients come first and foremost. We seek to develop the most innovative affiliate program on their behalf, often driving industry-wide changes in strategies and technologies. We aim to build credible relationships between merchant and affiliates, thereby forwarding the channel as an honest way for merchants to drive revenue.

In 2014, Schaaf-PartnerCentric was ecstatic to acquire a competitive agency, rocketing our client list to 80+ accounts. In addition, Schaaf-PartnerCentric gained a strong foothold in international affiliate program management, launching affiliate programs across four continents.

Our roster includes 21st Century, Tommy Hilfiger, the Quidsi family of brands, Cost Plus World Market, and LightInTheBox. We have deep expertise across many verticals, with the ability to strategically grow affiliate programs from a start-up to an international perspective.

Our highly experienced team leverages long-standing personal relationships with top affiliates to ensure consistent and accurate communication, a tactic not easily executed in our industry. We consider our affiliate managers to be some of the most experienced in the industry. If one of our team members has performed outstanding program management on your behalf, please feel free to nominate him or her as Affiliate Manager of the Year. In addition, you can email our CEO directly at Brook @ Schaafpc dot com.

We appreciate your support. We have enjoyed working with all of our clients and partners to develop strong relationships, and look forward to many more successful years.

Meet Our New Affiliate Program Manager – Elia Badran

Author : Dana Pezzin

Elia Badran just has joined Schaaf-PartnerCentric’s roster of Affiliate Program Managers, where he manages the day to day strategies and operations of various affiliate programs.

Elia comes to us from CJ Affiliate, where he first started working in the industry as a Client Support Representative, and was later promoted to Senior Account Manager in their Client Development department, managing various advertisers’ affiliate programs including AT&T, GUESS, Garmin, Discount Tires, and MacMall.

We sat down with Elia today to chat about his new position as a Schaaf-PartnerCentric affiliate program manager and his experiences in nearly a decade in the industry.

Q: Hi Elia! How are things going for you so far at Schaaf-PartnerCentric?

A:  So far, it’s been fantastic!  Everyone has been so accommodating with my myriad of questions, and I could not believe all the welcome IMs and emails I received on DAY 1!  I definitely started feeling like a part of the team as soon as I started.  You guys are awesome…

Q: What do you enjoy most about working in the affiliate industry?

A:  The affiliate industry is ever changing, and keeps me on my toes. I love the visibility I get from the various advertiser verticals I have the opportunity to manage, as well as the plug and play of what publisher distribution works with one advertiser vs. another.  I keep learning and growing with my clients, and I love that.

Q: In your seven years in the industry, what has remained as true on day one as it is today?

A:  The people.  Regardless of the side of business I am working with, one thing has remained constant, and that is the multitude of kind, collaborative, and intelligent people I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with.

Q: What advice do you find yourself regularly giving to advertisers in the space?

A:  Think outside the box and test, test, test!  There have been many a time I had been speaking with a client who was, for one reason or another, apprehensive about trying a new publisher model within their affiliate program.  The biggest recommendation I give these clients it to think through whatever objections they may have, and work WITH the publisher to appease any questions or concerns.  It’s important for our clients to remember that our publishers want to work with us, and not infringe on any in-house efforts.  Trying a new model, with set campaign controls, on a test basis, could yield fantastic results, but the fear of trying new ideas can be a debilitating one for a client’s program.

Q: This is also your first time working from home, correct?

A:  That is correct!  And I’m ecstatic to report that I have yet to have a single unwashed dish since I started working from home!

We’re happy you’re here, Elia!

Blogger’s Guide: Maximize Your Q4 Revenue

Author : Jessica Griffin

The fourth quarter is crucial to success, in business and in sports. The biggest challenge is finding those winning deals to put together your final plays of the year so you can get the most out of the holiday season. Here are a few tips from our playbook to yours:

  • Train for success: Offer paid placements on your site (Insider’s note: you can often get affiliate commission increases for these as well!)
  • Write unique content: Coordinate a review to post when the item or site has a big sale. Create a gift guide for men, women, kids of various age ranges, and grandparents, and market it to your readers and to the merchants you work with.
  • Have the best gear:
    • Set up a holiday page on their site so users can find deals quickly. Maybe even add a Holiday tab to your top navigation so your readers can find the information easily
    • Make sure you have a search bar on your site. Often someone will see a deal and want to go back and look for it
  • Play to your team’s strengths: Look for deals that resonate with your readers – You should know your site demographics, the types of deals they are seeking, and what retailers interest them.
  • Put in the VIPs: Reach out to the merchant partners you have worked with all year and ask for exclusive deals. You might even ask them for an increased commission for the fourth quarter too.

At the end of the season, analyze what worked, what didn’t work, and what you didn’t have time to try and put together a game plan early for next year.

If you’re a merchant interested in working with more bloggers through your affiliate program, please reach out for a management consultation.
