Elia comes to us from CJ Affiliate, where he first started working in the industry as a Client Support Representative, and was later promoted to Senior Account Manager in their Client Development department, managing various advertisers’ affiliate programs including AT&T, GUESS, Garmin, Discount Tires, and MacMall.

We sat down with Elia today to chat about his new position as a Schaaf-PartnerCentric affiliate program manager and his experiences in nearly a decade in the industry.

Q: Hi Elia! How are things going for you so far at Schaaf-PartnerCentric?

A:  So far, it’s been fantastic!  Everyone has been so accommodating with my myriad of questions, and I could not believe all the welcome IMs and emails I received on DAY 1!  I definitely started feeling like a part of the team as soon as I started.  You guys are awesome…

Q: What do you enjoy most about working in the affiliate industry?

A:  The affiliate industry is ever changing, and keeps me on my toes. I love the visibility I get from the various advertiser verticals I have the opportunity to manage, as well as the plug and play of what publisher distribution works with one advertiser vs. another.  I keep learning and growing with my clients, and I love that.

Q: In your seven years in the industry, what has remained as true on day one as it is today?

A:  The people.  Regardless of the side of business I am working with, one thing has remained constant, and that is the multitude of kind, collaborative, and intelligent people I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with.

Q: What advice do you find yourself regularly giving to advertisers in the space?

A:  Think outside the box and test, test, test!  There have been many a time I had been speaking with a client who was, for one reason or another, apprehensive about trying a new publisher model within their affiliate program.  The biggest recommendation I give these clients it to think through whatever objections they may have, and work WITH the publisher to appease any questions or concerns.  It’s important for our clients to remember that our publishers want to work with us, and not infringe on any in-house efforts.  Trying a new model, with set campaign controls, on a test basis, could yield fantastic results, but the fear of trying new ideas can be a debilitating one for a client’s program.

Q: This is also your first time working from home, correct?

A:  That is correct!  And I’m ecstatic to report that I have yet to have a single unwashed dish since I started working from home!

We’re happy you’re here, Elia!
