Our industry is one best served with lots of networking and togetherness. After all, relationships are at the root of every success to be found in affiliate marketing. So it should come as no surprise that a good deal of the calendar year involves trade shows and industry events spread across the country.
The busy 2011 trade show season is winding down, and we at Schaaf-PartnerCentric have been looking back at the many trade shows and events we attended in the past 10 months. There’s a lot to look back on.
Affiliate Summit West 2011 (Jan. 9-11 in Las Vegas)
Nearly our entire team was in attendance for the first trade show of 2011, and it was a great way to start the year. Between Summit’s sessions and duty in our Meet Market table and booth, we also managed to fit in a few team meetings, three days of meeting with our affiliate partners and a dinner for the team and our clients who were in town at Top of the World. The conversation was as stimulating as the view.
ShareASale Think Tank (May 25-27 in Chicago)
We were honored to be invited to ShareASale’s annual Think Tank and made the most of our time in Chicago. The Think Tank also afforded us quality time with many of our partners who promote programs actively on the ShareASale Network.
LinkShare Symposium (June 28 in New York City)
LinkShare Symposium offered us a great chance to meet up with affiliates who promote the programs we manage on the LinkShare Network.

Google Affiliate Network Summit (July 18-19 in Chicago)
The Google Affiliate Summit was a great way to meet affiliates who promote our clients’ program on Google Affiliate Network. It also marked the first time we joined with other OPMs to host a social gathering. Our event took place on the eve of the Think Tank for affiliates who were in town for the event. It was well-received by all who attended. We are grateful to our fellow sponsor OPMs – eAccountableOPM, 4 Paws Marketing and OPMpros.com.
Affiliate Summit East (Aug. 21-23 in New York City)
Affiliate Summit is always one of the bigger events we attend, and this Summit was jam-packed with events. We reserved a meeting space so that our affiliate managers could take time to have quality meetings with affiliate partners. The schedule was full – and the talks were productive. Even the evenings were scheduled down to the last minute – but we managed to host a dinner for our team and clients who came to NYC at a great restaurant near Central Park.
CJU (Sept. 20-22 in Santa Barbara)
Several of our affiliate managers were able to join us in Santa Barbara for another great Commission Junction University. And we were delighted to be able to host another affiliate gathering. OPM Party, which took place at Blue Agave, was a great success and we are grateful to our fellow OPM sponsors – eAccountableOPM.com, The Jar Group, NetX and Snow Consulting.
DMA (Oct. 1-6 in Boston)
Our CEO, Brook Schaaf, was a featured speaker at the Direct Marketing Assocation trade show that took place earlier this month. He was excited to see other affiliate marketers in attendance at the event.
So, that’s the year in review. We were able to meet up with many of the clients and affiliates with whom we work, and we look forward to meeting again at the many industry events being planned for 2012.
