When the news came late yesterday through that strangely innocuous headline: “An Update on Google Affiliate Network,” we at Schaaf-PartnerCentric took a few moments to make sure we hadn’t stumbled onto a belated April Fool’s joke. Then we began gathering information and reaching out to our merchant clients and publisher contacts to ensure that our partners in affiliate marketing that we’re here to help in the transition that Google says will be taking place “over the next few months.”
So, the news is out. Now it’s time to prepare for the future. We see this as an opportunity for all our partners to re-evaluate options and make a plan for a future that continues to be very bright indeed.
More than anything we want everyone to know that we’re already taking meetings and asking questions to get all of the information that we’ll need to assist in a smooth
transition from Google Afilliate Network into the future.

For our merchants, there’s comfort in knowing that at Schaaf-PartnerCentric, we’ve always prided ourselves on being network neutral. That means we work with all of the networks whether large, small, niche, international – and our team of affiliate managers are experts at getting the most for your affiliate program regardless of network. So, we’re well-positioned to assist with this kind of situation.
Right now it’s important that we take the time to evaluate the specific needs of your affiliate program and select the network or networks that can best carry forward your strategies, goals and successes. We’ll be advising merchants on these important decisions in the coming days, weeks and months.
For affiliate partners who promote programs through the Google Affiliate Network, we’ll be keeping you informed, as always, as the merchants you promote make the transition over the next few months to other networks.
This transition won’t happen overnight but you can get a head-start today. Many of the affiliate programs under our management are run on multiple networks. You can visit our client list online to determine which programs are on other networks. If, for example, a program is being run on CJ and Google Affiliate Network, you can apply to join the CJ program today and keep working with that merchant on another network in advance of the Google Affiliate Network shutdown.
Schaaf-PartnerCentric will be communicating with you (affiliates and merchants) about this transition and the best steps for you to follow, but affiliates can also stay informed by making sure you are reading communications from the merchants directly. As merchants make decisions regarding the transition they’ll be sharing those choices with you in their e-mail newsletters, so now more than ever it’s important that you read those as they arrive.
