Trying to shape the debate on industry regulation

As our industry continues to fight affiliate taxation on a state-by-state basis we recently heard the wheels of the federal government rolling slowly in our direction. Now marketing industry leaders are taking the battle to Washington, D.C. in the hope of shaping the federal regulation of the Internet that now seems inevitable.

ClickZ is the latest industry group to take the debate to the nation’s capital with its Online Marketing Summit, a panel discussion that will take place Thursday. The event will cover such topics as behavioral targetingonline privacy and disclosure in ad practices, recent regulatory measures and government involvement in the industry, and what marketers should expect in the coming year or two.
